Movielearn™  Joins Hong Kong Cyperport's IncuTrain Program; To Emerge as a Driving Force in Digital Entertainment Industry

Hong Kong, June 26, 2006 – Movielearn Hong Kong Ltd, the Hong Kong based company of Movielearn Systems Pte Ltd that produces the groundbreaking English learning edutainment (education + entertainment) software application called Movielearn, announces its selection in the Spring 2006 application to the incubation and training program launched by the Cyberport Digital Entertainment IncuTrain Centre (“Cyberport”) in Hong Kong.

This program aims to provide incubatee companies with equipped office space at favorable terms, access to advanced digital production facilities and resources, support in business development, promotion & marketing, partnership matching, as well as technology and entrepreneurship training up to a maximum of two years.

Established last year, Cyberport is a unique base to incubate new entrants in the Digital Entertainment and Multimedia Industries of Hong Kong. After the Fall 2005 and Spring 2006 applications, there are approx 30 incubatees in Cyberport with businesses in different areas such as game, animation-comics, edu/info-tainment, e-commerce, music-audio and more.

Movielearn is an application that provides user-friendly English learning tools for watching DVD movies on the computer. Combining exciting and popular content from major TV and movie production studios with PC interactivity, Movielearn teaches users everyday conversational English through movies, thus infusing entertainment with a personalized learning experience; simply watch the movie on the computer and when the user does not understand the English spoken, the movie is paused by just pressing the space bar or enter key on the computer and the application takes the user to sophisticated learning panels to explain the English.

“We are excited to be part of Cyberport as this offers beneficial opportunities for Movielearn to emerge as a driving force in the digital entertainment industry. The program not only aims to build and promote entrepreneurship and competence for commercialization success in the digital entertainment industry of Hong Kong, but also to enhance cohesion and networking of incubatees within the industry,” said Susan Macdonald, Movielearn’s Licensing and Business Development Head.  “We also share the Hong Kong Government’s vision of promoting and building Hong Kong as a leading digital entertainment hub in Asia.”
